Our second full-scale musical production, Legally Blonde Jr, was an unforgettable celebration of talent, confidence and teamwork. Bringing the iconic story of Elle Woods to the stage, our students embraced the show's energy, humour and heart, delivering a production packed with standout performances, impressive choreography and unforgettable musical numbers. From Omigod You Guys and What You Want to Whipped Into Shape and Bend and Snap, the cast brought the audience along for every moment of Elle's inspiring journey.

With two casts sharing the production, audiences were treated to a wealth of young talent. Both Sylvie and Sofia shone in the demanding role of Elle Woods, leading the show with confidence, charisma and exceptional stage presence. Their performances captured both the humour and determination of the character, carrying the production from beginning to end.

​

The role of Emmett Forrest was brilliantly brought to life by Felix and Dylan, whose performances provided warmth, sincerity and plenty of memorable moments throughout the show. Alongside them, Dani and Ava delighted audiences as Paulette, bringing fantastic comic timing and infectious energy to every scene.

​

Special recognition must also go to Margot and Eilis as Brooke Wyndham, who tackled one of the show's most challenging and energetic roles with confidence and enthusiasm, while Surayya and Issy delivered wonderfully strong performances as Vivienne, capturing the character's journey with maturity and depth.

​

The Delta Nu trio lit up the stage throughout the production. Scarlett and Julietta as Margot, Maisie and Alba as Serena, and Yasmine and Candela as Pilar brought incredible energy to every number, creating many of the production's most entertaining moments and helping establish the vibrant world of the show.

​

A huge part of the production's success came from the wider company, whose commitment, enthusiasm and teamwork elevated every scene. Whether leading major musical numbers, supporting key moments or helping create the vibrant atmosphere that defines Legally Blonde, every student played an important role in bringing the production to life.

The production was made even more special by receiving messages of support from members of the Legally Blonde family, including original Broadway Elle Woods Laura Bell Bundy and George Crawford, who currently stars as Emmett Forrest in the UK tour. Their encouragement provided an incredible source of inspiration for the entire cast and creative team.

Most importantly, Legally Blonde Jr. represented everything Voices aims to achieve: building confidence, encouraging creativity, fostering friendships and giving young performers the opportunity to shine on stage. We couldn't be prouder of every student involved in making the production such a huge success.

A note from our Vivienne - Issy Duffy.

In February, students from Voices performed our own production of Legally Blonde JR. Auditions were held back in March, and although they were definitely nerve-wracking, the Voices community made me feel so incredibly welcomed and supported right from the start.

​

​I auditioned for Vivienne the "mean girl" archetype who ultimately serves as an excellent foil to the main character, Elle Woods. Rehearsals kicked off in August, and it was so much fun to finally collaborate face-to-face. Getting to work closely with the wonderful Sylvie and Sofia, who both starred as Elle Woods, was an absolute highlight. They both brought so much talent, energy, and charm to the role, making it incredibly exciting to share the stage with them. Every single student had an important role to play, and everyone put in immense hard work and dedication to ensure show-week would run smoothly.

​When show-week did eventually arrive, the initial auditions felt like a lifetime ago. Although the nerves were there, I was mostly just excited to finally perform and showcase the brilliant work we had all poured into this production. Then came the moment: lights down, and a hush fell across the audience.

​

​Opening night. My heart was racing as the opening chords of "Omigod You Guys" started up. From backstage, I could see the audience's faces light up and hear them whooping with excitement. Scene 4 was my first cue. I strutted onto the stage completely in character, and the amazing thing was that the second my feet hit the stage, all my nerves just melted away. We had practiced so hard and were so well-prepared that I could just focus on enjoying the moment and giving it my all.

​It was an unforgettable experience, and I am so grateful to have been part of such a talented, hardworking, and supportive cast.
